夢は大空を駆け巡る

彼(リンドバーグ)は、スピリット・オブ・セントルイス号に乗り、１９２７年５月２１日に大西洋を渡り、パリに着いた。(ビリー・ワイルダー監督の映画「翼よあれが巴里の灯だ！」が有名)あれから約１００年、今や飛行機はプロペラではなくてジェットエンジンの時代になっている。空飛ぶ車の構想もある。

今年ビジネスジェットの販売では、セスナを抜きホンダが世界一になった。

私は２００５年の夏、ニューヨーク観光を終えて時間が余ったから、ニューアーク空港からビジネスジェットに乗り、日帰りでワシントンD.C.に向かったのです。

ワシントンでは２つの目的がありました。まず一つは、スミソニアン博物館を訪れること。国立航空宇宙博物館にはライト兄弟の飛行機から、アポロ１１号、スペースシャトルまである巨大な博物館だ。もちろんリンドバーグの飛行機も。他には自然史博物館もあり、私の好きな鉱石やマンモス象も展示されている。そういった博物館などの総称が「スミソニアン・インスティチューション」です。トム・ハンクス監修の戦闘機を描くIMAXシアターはほんとに圧巻だった。でも今年初めその博物館は政府機関の１つとして閉鎖されていましたよね。

もう１つの目的は、バージニアにあるアーリントン墓地にメトロで行くこと。知る人ぞ知るそこにはケネディ兄弟やジャクリーヌ・オアシス婦人の墓石、無名戦士の墓などがあり、訪れる人も多い観光地の１つでもある。ケネディのの残した言葉がそこでも印象的だった。私はどうしても彼に一度問いかけたかったんです……。(内容は、英文で)

ホンダの夢は空を翔る 

He (Lindberg)crossed the Atlantic on May 21, 1927 by "Spirit of St. Louis" , and arrived in Paris.

We use an airplane of the jet engines, not a propeller for last 100 years .

Honda removed Cessna by sale of business jet this year, and became best in the world.

When I finished sightseeing at N.Y. in ２００５, I came up with a day trip to Washington D.C. by a business jet from the Newark airport .

I had 2 purposes about visiting to Washington.

The one is to go for Smithonian's National Air Space Museum. We can see Mammoth and favorite stones, Apolo １１（LM-２）,Space Shuttle Discovery, a airplane of Wright Brothers(Wright Flyer), the devil"The Enola Gay" and Lindberg's "Spirit of St.Louis" there.

By the way, it's lucky to me to be able to see the museum ,cause was closed last month.

The another is to go to Arlington National Cemetery by metro.

Ｉsaw people visiting to "The Tomb of the Unknowns"

J.F.K. was buried in front of everlasting fire, with Jacquline Oasis.

I wanted to ask him "Appearance of your country in which you wish is like this ?"

Of course he didn't answer anything .

We can find his brother Boby's grave aside their's.

Also we can find his famous words,

"And so fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.

My fellow citizens of the world, ask not what America will do for you. But ask what together we can do for the freedom of man."
